Radiophonic Institute and archive
For decades the KIRLIAN RADIOPHONIC INSTITUTE AND ARCHIVE has been working tirelessly to recover and preserve an archive of an extraordinary nature: a series of tapes that contain the latest broadcasts of THE KIRLIAN FREQUENCY, a radio show that was broadcast during the late-night slot of the local station of Ingeniero Kirlian, a small town in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Today the place does not appear on any official map and those tapes represent the only proof of existence of said town. Currently the origin of those cassettes is as mysterious as the events narrated in them.
There is only one way to do justice to the disappeared town: direct support from people following this investigation and from those who want to become part of an extraordinary event, the Kirlian Frequency movie. Only with your contribution will we be able to answer the fundamental questions of this enigma. What happened on the night of April 30, 1987 in Ingeniero Kirlian?
Why is that night known as The Night of the Comet? Let's crack the mystery, TOGETHER.
The Kirlian Frequency creator
Cristian Ponce holds a degree in Audiovisual Production and is a Professor in the field. He lives in the city of La Plata, where in 2008 he co-founded the production company “Tangram Cine“ with other colleagues. Within the company, he has written and/or directed web series such as “A Year Without Television,“ “Motorized Police Companions,“ “Without Connection,“ and “The Work of My Life“; short films like “Brief History on the Planet“ and “Hesperidina Express“; and feature films such as “In Search of the Lost Doll.“ In 2017, he released “The Kirlian Frequency,“ a project that was nearly 10 years in the making.
In 2019, “The Kirlian Frequency“ was re-released as exclusive content worldwide on Netflix. In 2020, Cristian premiered his first feature film as a director: “History of the Occult,“ which received great public and critical acclaim during its festival run, before being released on various streaming platforms around the world. He is currently filming his second feature film, “Abraço de Mãe,“ and preparing the film version of “The Kirlian Frequency.“
